“Jozzy, Anna, and the Plymouth Youth Music Service team have collaborated with the Your Future programme in various ways over recent years. Initially offering bespoke DJ workshops for our young learners engaging in a short course designed to promote confidence building and personal and social development, and more recently as guests at our Supported Internship Celebration Event. This visit provided interns from across the city an incredible opportunity to free-style with the DJ decks and take advantage of the specialist guidance and support made available by the music tutors.
This activity was extremely popular, and interns were fascinated by the technology and their ability to make interesting sounds. It certainly added an interactive and dynamic layer to their celebration event and encouraged an element of creativity and self-expression that would otherwise be lacking. Many interns were keen to find out more about available DJ sessions in the area, potentially kickstarting new hobbies and social channels. A great opportunity to connect and upskill young talent, and build a vibrant SEND community in Plymouth.”
